H. E. Dr. Morie Manyeh has held a productive meeting with Veronica Bolton-Smith, Chief Operating Officer at Invest Africa, during which they shared relevant ideas and experiences on the most effective pathways for driving investment into Sierra Leone through the network and platform provided by Invest Africa.
Invest Africa is a leading international business and investment development platform, with over sixty years of history. It has a network comprising of more than 400 global organisations, private investors, fund managers, policy makers and entrepreneurs. According to Ms. Veronica, this global network exists “to build opportunities across the African continent, and to support and connect countries with businesses through largescale conferences and customized side events”.
Dr. Manyeh, in his contribution, talked about the overall vision of H.E. President Julius Maada Bio and expanded on the policy position of the New Direction government in relation to Sierra Leone’s Human Capital Development goals. Emphasising this point, ambassador Manyeh called for a clear focus on specific sectors including key areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
HE Manyeh also expressed the desire to work towards developing a robust working relationship with Invest Africa through the appropriate ministries and affiliated departments including the Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA)
During the zoom meeting, Ms Veronica disclosed that Invest Africa has had important success stories on the continent including in countries such as Angola and Togo where the group has organised and supported major investment ventures building partnerships around key sectoral areas.
