DONATES 4 X FORTY-FEET CONTAINERS OF MEDICAL ITEMS TO THE GOVERNMENT OF SIERRA LEONE.<\/p>\n

A Sierra Leonean living and working in London has donated 4 units of 40ft containers filled with medical items to the government of Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sidikie Kargbo, an ISS Regional Operations Manager working at the Bank of America Account- UK,
\ntogether with his wife, Andrea Reis, co-founded \u2018Project Dream\u2019 (https:\/\/www.weareprojectdream.com\/)
\nin 2016. This is a UK registered charity organisation supporting communities in the North and South of Sierra Leone, in the Health and Education sectors.<\/p>\n

The latest project that \u2018Project Dream\u2019 has been working on has resulted in the organisation securing 4 X Forty-feet container loads of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes molnlcycke surgical gowns, medium nonsterile, surgical goggles, oxygen tubing, surgical masks, surgical gloves, hand sanitisers and Antibacterial wipes.
\nThese medical items were procured, courtesy the UK National Health Service (NHS and Globe Chain) through a meticulously regulated process that is only open to a small selection of reputable charitable organisations such as \u2018Project Dream\u201d.<\/p>\n

The cost for the shipment of the four containers have been paid in full and the consignment is now on its way to Freetown.<\/p>\n

The 4 containers are being donated to the government of Sierra Leone\u2019s Ministry of Health and Sanitation through the Sierra Leone High Commission in London.
\nMr. Kargbo will soon be travelling to Sierra Leone to formally facilitate the physical handover to government.
\nWhile in the country Mr. Kargbo would also personally distribute additional materials to clinics and hospitals in his home district of Moyamba<\/p>\n

During his latest courtesy call on HE Dr. Morie Manyeh and staff in the chancery building at 41 Eagle Street, yesterday (26\/10\/2022), Mr. Kargbo had this to say: \u201cProject Dream has been closely following the activities of the government of Sierra Leone, with particular reference to the Ministries of Health and Education and\u201d, he went on, \u201cwe have been able to objectively conclude that the Government is actively addressing real problems in the country during these difficult times\u201d. Mr. Kargbo expressed \u201cadmiration\u201d for the efforts of government with reference to what is being achieved on the ground: \u201cwe admire the integrity and efficiency with which the government is using the meagre resources to directly support the population, in the face of the huge challenges caused by the global pandemic and cost of living crisis\u201d, he emphasised.<\/p>\n

Responding to Mr. Kargbo, Sierra Leone\u2019s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Dr. Morie Komba Manyeh, thanked all members of \u2018Project Dream\u2019 and through them the NHS, \u201con behalf of HE President Julius Maada Bio and the People and Government of Sierra Leone\u201d.
\nDr. Manyeh expressed appreciation for \u201cthe commendable patriotic gesture\u201d demonstrated by Mr. Kargbo and his partner while stating the wish that more Sierra Leoneans, with the right means and appropriate connections, could come forward and leverage their contacts for the good of the nation.
\nDr. Manyeh encouraged Sierra Leoneans with capacity and capabilities to keep doing more for Sierra Leone because \u201cevery little helps; and nothing is too little\u201d!<\/p>\n

Accompanying Mr. Kargbo to the High Commission was Madam Imambay Kadie Kamara, a well-known Sierra Leonean philanthropist who is also based in London. Mrs. Kamara, who is the President and Founder of \u2018Disabled International Foundation UK\/SL\u2019 (www.difsil.org), supports vulnerable women and girls in Sierra Leone. Her organisation has been very active in charity work in Sierra Leone where it has built schools and runs an orphanage for disabled children in Lungi.<\/p>\n
