H.E. Dr. Morie Komba Manyeh, Sierra Leone\u2019s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Thursday evening (03\/07\/2025) served as Special Guest at the prestigious African Business Awards (AfBC) and Gala Dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This distinguished event, held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London\u2019s Kensington, convened influential leaders from across the African continent\u2014including High Commissioners, business executives, entrepreneurs, and investors based in the United Kingdom\u2014to celebrate the role of enterprise in advancing sustainable economic growth across Africa. The occasion also highlighted the critical importance of substantial  government support in empowering African businesses to thrive both on the continent and throughout the global diaspora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the occasion, High Commissioner Manyeh engaged in meaningful dialogue with Sierra Leonean Diaspora professionals serving on the AfBC Executive Events Management Team, including Golda F. Kamara, Miatta Momoh, and Celeste Aubee. Mrs. Golda Kamara is a UK-based Sierra Leonean-Danish entrepreneur, and community builder (https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/goldafania\/). Golda is recognised for her contributions to digital transformation across West Africa, her efforts in improving Nordic-Africa relations, as well as promoting diaspora networks and local entrepreneurial ecosystems. Ms. Momoh, co-founder of *Kente & Silk*, (https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/miatta-momoh\/) leads initiatives that reposition Africa’s image in China and foster linkages between African startups and Chinese digital platforms. Ms. Aubee (https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/celeste-aubee\/), a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, and also in the British Virgin Islands, specialises in funds and regulatory law. She also serves as a strategic operations lead to a number of African governments and institutions, spearheading delivery of high-level investment events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Manyeh expressed satisfaction at \u201cthe richness of ideas and the level of professionalism\u201d exemplified at the AfCB event. The High Commissioner went on to state that he was \u201cimmensely proud to see Sierra Leoneans playing such meaningful roles on platforms like this. Adding, \u201cIt is a clear demonstration of our nation\u2019s growing influence and the calibre of our people on the international stage\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Award categories on the evening reflected the breadth and impact of African enterprise, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Start-Up & New Business of the Year, Technology & Innovation, Healthcare Delivery, and African Women in Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening also featured a vibrant cultural performance by Busi Mhlanga, a Zimbabwean-born, UK-based singer and choreographer, whose electrifying Zulu dance added a memorable artistic flow to the enlightening ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
