The Founder and President of Disabled International Foundation UK\/Sierra Leone, ( https:\/\/disabledinternationalfoundation.com\/about-us\/) Dr. Imambay Kamara, today (15th September, 2025) paid a courtesy call on Sierra Leone\u2019s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E. Dr. Morie Komba Manyeh, and Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Yvonne King Odigboh at the Sierra Leone High Commission in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, Dr. Kamara presented the two diplomats with awards of recognition for their invaluable support and steadfast commitment to the work of the Foundation. She praised their encouragement and support for the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities, noting that their leadership continues to inspire her and her team in redoubling efforts towards inclusion and empowerment both in Sierra Leone and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit comes shortly after Disabled International Foundation\u2019s 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee celebrations, marking a quarter-century of service and advocacy. Over the years, the Foundation has played an important role in Sierra Leone, where it has built schools, cared for orphans, and provided essential support for persons living with disabilities. Its mission continues to focus on education, empowerment, and dignity for some of society\u2019s most vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his remarks, High Commissioner Dr. Manyeh commended Dr. Kamara and her organisation for their tireless service:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDisabled International Foundation has been a shining light for Sierra Leone. Through its schools, care programmes, and advocacy, it has touched countless lives and given hope to the most vulnerable in our society\u201d. The High Commissioner went on to appreciate Dr. Imambay Kamara for her \u201cvision and resilience\u201d, and assured her of the High Commission\u2019s continued support as she leads this noble cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Yvonne King Odigboh added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are deeply honoured to receive this recognition. The work of Disabled International Foundation reflects the best of Sierra Leone\u2019s spirit \u2014 compassion, dedication, and service\u201d. Mrs. Yvonne King praised Dr. Imambay Kamara for her work in helping  \u201cto uplift and empower\u201d the disabled and other vulnerable Sierra Leoneans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brief but symbolic ceremony underscored the strong collaboration between the Sierra Leone High Commission and the Disabled International Foundation in advancing opportunities and protection for persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
