LONDON, 8 AUGUST 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unity, fellowship and community spirit were on display as members, supporters and dignitaries of the Sierra Leone People\u2019s Party gathered in Southeast London for the SLPP UK&I Women\u2019s Council Fundraising Barbecue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held at the Wheelshunters Social Club, 1 Hornshay Street, London SE15 1HB, the event brought together members of the wider SLPP community for an afternoon and evening of celebration, friendship and shared purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The occasion attracted several distinguished personalities, including Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Yvonne King Odigboh; Mr. Khalilu Omaru Bah, Chairman of Sierra Leone\u2019s Public Service Commission; Dr. Bonapha Jonathan Tengbeh, former Minister of Water Resources; H.E. Attumani Dainkeh, former Sierra Leone Ambassador to Morocco; and Mr. Sheku Kamara, Board Member at the Sierra Leone Commercial bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their presence reflected the broad participation at an event that brought together current and former public servants, party officials, families and supporters in a relaxed community setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the SLPP UK&I Executive, including Regional Chairman Alhajie Mohamed Jalloh and Secretary General Mrs. Teresa Dizzo Kamara, were in attendance, demonstrating the regional leadership\u2019s solid support for the Women\u2019s Council and its efforts to encourage participation and strengthen cohesion across the Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of the event was Women\u2019s Leader Ms. Jennifer Tengbeh and her dedicated team, whose organisation, commitment and coordination were evident throughout the day. Their efforts highlighted the important contribution women continue to make as leaders, organisers and mobilisers within the SLPP and the wider community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond fundraising, food and entertainment, the gathering also conveyed a broader message. The theme, \u201cOne Country, One People!\u201d, underscored the importance of unity, solidarity and cooperation, values that extend beyond regional party structures and speak to the wider national aspiration for cohesion and collective progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Women\u2019s Council looks towards its next event on 31 October 2026, the gathering offered a reminder of the contribution that cooperation, community engagement and shared purpose can make towards building stronger organisations and capable communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
