London, 23 September 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Excellency Dr. Morie Komba Manyeh, High Commissioner of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the United Kingdom, today received Ambassador Johan Frisell, Africa Director and Head of the Africa Department at Sweden\u2019s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, on a courtesy visit to the Sierra Leone High Commission in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ambassador Frisell was accompanied by Ms Annika Jacobsson, Desk Officer in the Africa Department at Sweden\u2019s Ministry for Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting focused on bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest to Sierra Leone and Sweden, including opportunities to deepen cooperation in trade and investment, education and skills transfer. The two sides also discussed mutual support within multilateral institutions and continued engagement on international issues of common interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High Commissioner Manyeh welcomed his guests and informed them of the recent appointment of Hon. Mohamed Rahman Swaray as Sierra Leone\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He expressed optimism about further strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ambassador Frisell praised Sierra Leone\u2019s recent tenure as an elected member of the United Nations Security Council, commending the country\u2019s contribution during its 2024\u20132025 term. Sierra Leone\u2019s membership marked its return to the Security Council after more than five decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High Commissioner Manyeh underscored Sierra Leone\u2019s interest in expanding its partnership with Sweden, particularly in areas that could promote economic opportunities and human-capital development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also present from the Sierra Leone High Commission were Mrs. Juliana S.H. Fallah, Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of Chancery; Ms. Patricia Syl Kamara, Counsellor\/Head of Consular; Ms. Hawah Bah, First Secretary; Mr. Sahr Dugba, Trade Attach\u00e9; and Mr. Abdulai M. Braima, Information Attach\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit reaffirmed the commitment of Sierra Leone and Sweden to deepen their bilateral relationship, broaden practical cooperation and strengthen coordination within multilateral institutions, while pursuing new avenues of engagement for the mutual benefit of both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
