Representing Sierra Leone at this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony was HE Yvonne King-Odigboh, Sierra Leone’s Deputy High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Mrs. Yvonne King-Odigboh, a woman with a strong military background, marched in perfect harmony with representatives of other countries and kingdoms.

This special day is set aside to mark the invaluable services rendered by military and civilian Personel, from all the constituent parts of Great Britain and the Commonwealth, to defend and preserve freedom. It is commemorated in a solemn annual March Past and the symbolic laying out of poppy flowers as a mark of honour and respect to all those who lost their lives in the service of the common good. This is one occasion that brings together politicians of all parties, members of the monarchy, the military, and ordinary men and women of the public eager to register their respects and to honour the dead.

We salute all veterans, including Sierra Leoneans who have fought in just wars to make the world a better place for all!
