HE Dr. Morie Manyeh, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on Thursday 14/04/2022 presented his diplomatic credentials to His Excellency Nicos Anastasiades, president of the Republic of Cyprus. The occasion was marked by an elegant ceremony which saw the participation of 10 non-resident diplomatic representatives to the island country, a picturesque tourist destination bustling in the Mediterranean Sea.
Among those present and presenting credentials were the ambassadors of Algeria, Albania, Angola, Lithuania, the Philippines, Morocco, Belize, Barbados, and Bangladesh.
Following the presentation HE Manyeh, whose birthday happens to fall on the day, interacted with president Nicos Anastasiades and also with his colleague High Commissioners and Ambassadors. He then went on to have other meaningful engagements with the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs and with the Minister of Tourism.
The Sierra Leone High commissioner and newly accredited ambassador to Cyprus also met with the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy as well as with the Director of Commerce and Industry, in a determined drive to explore tangible areas of investment opportunities in various sectors germane to Sierra Leone’s national development interests.
Dr. Manyeh is scheduled to have further engagements on Friday 15/04/2022 with the Cypriot minister of Education and the Dean of the University of Cyprus as well as with other key government officers in the continuing effort to prudently leverage the unique advantages of Sierra Leone on the international stage, and to scoop out potential opportunities for the nation.
Dr. Morie Manyeh, who was accompanied by First Secretary Mr. Joseph Goakai and Acting Head of Chancery Mr. Christopher Bockarie, is expected back in London over the weekend.
