Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Mr. Chernor A. Bah, has arrived in London ahead of the 🇸🇱London Civic Town Hall scheduled for 18 June 2026, as part of a high-level government delegation engaging the Sierra Leonean diaspora in the United Kingdom.
Led by the Honorable Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, who is expected to arrive tomorrow, the Town Hall forms part of the Government’s International Civic Day Series and officially launches the four-day Sierra Leone Diaspora Week: London 2026, under the theme: *Connect. Invest. Celebrate*.

The week-long programme will feature civic engagement, investment forums, expert panels, networking events, startup pitches, and real estate opportunities designed to strengthen ties between Sierra Leone and its diaspora while promoting investment and national development.
*The London Civic Town Hall* is expected to bring together members of the Sierra Leonean community, investors, professionals, students, and civil society actors for open dialogue on governance, development priorities, and diaspora engagement.

Speaking ahead of the event, Minister Bah underscored the Government’s commitment to meaningful engagement with Sierra Leoneans abroad:
“*We are not coming to lecture; we are coming to listen, to learn, and to build lasting institutional links. We need your critique just as much as we need your capital.*”
He emphasized that the diaspora remains a strategic national asset whose ideas, expertise, and investments are vital to Sierra Leone’s transformation.
The Minister’s message reflects the spirit of the London engagement: one rooted in dialogue, accountability, and partnership. As Sierra Leone advances its development agenda, the London Civic Town Hall and the wider Sierra Leone Diaspora Week 2026 reaffirm the His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio’s commitment to ensuring that every Sierra Leonean, wherever they reside, has a role to play in building a more prosperous, inclusive, and united nation.
