Yesterday, November 10, 2024, Deputy High Commissioner (DHC) Mrs. Yvonne King Odigboh participated in the solemn Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London. Mrs. King Odigboh joined a distinguished gathering led by His Majesty King Charles III, which included senior members of the British royal family, political leaders, and representatives from across the Commonwealth. Together, they laid wreaths in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the World Wars and other conflicts.
The annual event, held to commemorate the fallen, brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds to pay their respects to military personnel who lost their lives in service. The wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph is a central feature of Remembrance Day observances, marked by a moment of silence for reflection.
Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Odigboh’s participation in this solemn occasion underscores Sierra Leone’s commitment to events that reflect both our national and international responsibilities, including remembering the sacrifices made by past generations.
