On Sunday 21st September 2025, Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Yvonne King-Odigboh participated in a series of significant community engagements in London.
She first attended a Thanksgiving and Rededication Service at Westminster Abbey in Central London to commemorate the 85th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain—a pivotal World War II air campaign in which the Royal Air Force successfully defended the United Kingdom against large-scale attacks by Nazi Germany. The service paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of “The Few,” the airmen and women whose bravery was instrumental in shaping the course of the war.

Later in the day, Mrs. King-Odigboh joined *the 16th Annual Thanksgiving Service of the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) at St. Mark’s Church in South East London. The YWCA, one of the world’s oldest and largest women’s organizations, has a long history of empowering women and promoting leadership, education, and community service. The service celebrated the association’s achievements, highlighted its ongoing role in supporting young women, and reaffirmed its commitment to faith and service in society.
