The event was graced by His Excellency Dr. Morie Komba Manyeh, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, and his wife, Mrs. Marie Manyeh, a proud alumna of Centennial Secondary School. Their presence underscored the importance of the occasion and reflected the strong connection between the school, its alumni, and the Sierra Leonean diaspora community.

Also in attendance were many distinguished guests, including members of staff of the Sierra Leone High Commission in London. Among them was the Head of Chancery, Mrs. Juliana S.H. Fallah, who joined alumni and guests in supporting the association’s fundraising efforts.

Delivering remarks on behalf of the association, the Chairperson of CeOSA UK, Ms. Elizabeth Faley, welcomed guests and expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support received from alumni, friends, and well-wishers over the years. She highlighted the association’s unwavering commitment to advancing the welfare of Centennial Secondary School and strengthening bonds among former pupils across the world.

A key feature of the evening was a detailed PowerPoint presentation showcasing ongoing development projects at Centennial Secondary School. The presentation highlighted the refurbishment of the school’s toilets, dining hall, and female dormitories, providing guests with a clear demonstration of how funds raised and donations received by the association are being utilized to improve the learning and living environment of students. The presentation was warmly received and reinforced confidence in the association’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

The evening was also marked by special moments of recognition and celebration. Mrs. Juliana S.H. Fallah was warmly acknowledged on the occasion of her wedding anniversary.

Another memorable highlight was the celebration of a significant milestone birthday for Madam Agnes Wai, a distinguished alumna of Centennial Secondary School. Alumni, family members, and friends joined in honouring her special occasion, paying tribute to her longstanding association with the school and her valued contribution to the alumni community.

In recognition of longstanding service and support, certificates of appreciation were presented to individuals and organisations that have contributed to the growth and success of CeOSA UK over the past twenty-one years. The awards acknowledged the dedication, generosity, and commitment of supporters whose contributions have helped sustain the association’s activities and development initiatives.

The event featured a sumptuous buffet dinner, social interaction, and lively entertainment provided by DJ Abba, while Mr. David Mambu and Madam Kadie D. Conteh served as Masters of Ceremony, guiding guests through an engaging programme of activities.

A major highlight of the evening was the impressive display of generosity demonstrated by alumni and supporters. Numerous pledges and donations were made by various alumni associations, groups, and individual contributors in support of the school’s fence construction project. The fundraising drive attracted significant commitments from attendees, reflecting a shared determination to improve the security and infrastructure of Centennial Secondary School.

Members of CeOSA UK expressed profound gratitude for the generous contributions and pledges received, noting that the support would go a long way in advancing the fence-building project and other developmental initiatives for the school.

As CeOSA UK continues to pursue its “Decade of Rejuvenation 2025–2035” agenda, the Fundraising Buffet and Dance served not only as a social gathering but also as a powerful demonstration of collective action and commitment to the future of Centennial Secondary School.

The event highlighted the strength of Sierra Leone’s diaspora networks and reaffirmed the enduring commitment of Centennial alumni to educational development, community service, and the continued progress of their alma mater. Through unity, generosity, and shared purpose, CeOSA UK continues to inspire meaningful contributions toward the growth and success of Centennial Secondary School and its wider community.
