Following the resounding success of this year’s 🇸🇱 Southend Beach event in Essex, widely regarded as the largest single annual gathering of Sierra Leoneans in the United Kingdom, key members of the organising team today paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Dr. Morie Komba Manyeh, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the UK.

The delegation, comprising Nyakeh Margai, Santos Kamara, and Usman Kamara, briefed the High Commissioner on the outstanding success of the event, which once again brought together thousands of Sierra Leoneans and friends of Sierra Leone for a day of culture, unity, entertainment, and community celebration.

The meeting today provided an opportunity to reflect on this year’s event, discuss its impact and key achievements, and exchange initial thoughts on sustaining its momentum in the years ahead. The discussions also reaffirmed the shared commitment of the organisers and the High Commission to strengthening community engagement and promoting Sierra Leone’s rich cultural heritage across the United Kingdom.

The courtesy visit concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing appreciation for the success of this year’s event and optimism about its continued growth and significance within the Sierra Leonean diaspora.
