Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Yvonne King Odigboh joined members of the Government Model Old Pupils’ Association UK & Ireland (MOPA UK&I) for their 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, 6 September 2026, at Walworth Methodist Church in London.
Held under the inspiring theme “Arise and Shine” (Isaiah 60:1), the service brought together former pupils, members and well-wishers to give thanks to God for His continued guidance, protection and blessings upon their beloved school and its alumni.
Attending as the Association’s Distinguished Grand Chief Patron, Mrs. King Odigboh delivered the Gospel reading from Isaiah 60:1–5 and joined members in reflecting on the importance of fellowship, service and giving back to the institution that helped shape their lives.
The occasion carried another dimension as it fell on the eve of the Deputy High Commissioner’s birthday. In a warm expression of appreciation and affection, members honoured Mrs. King Odigboh with a birthday cake, bringing an additional moment of joy to the celebration.
The Thanksgiving Service was a fitting expression of faith, gratitude, service and enduring fellowship, while reaffirming MOPA UK&I’s commitment to supporting Government Model School and contributing to its continued progress.
For Mrs. King Odigboh, the afternoon was made particularly memorable by the thoughtful birthday tribute from a community gathered in thanksgiving and shared purpose.
