In a meaningful show of support for Sierra Leonean enterprise and diaspora unity, Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Yvonne King Odigboh joined entrepreneurs, vendors and community leaders in London for the *Sierra Leone Sellers Union UK* Annual Luncheon Fête, where she served as Distinguished Grand Chief Patron.
The impressive gathering, held on Saturday, 3 October 2026, at the Jessie Duffett Tenant Hall, Wyndham Road, London, celebrated not only commerce but also the determination, creativity and collective strength of Sierra Leoneans building businesses and strengthening communities across the United Kingdom.
Held under the theme “*Uniting Vendors • Fostering Community • Empowering Trade*,” the event brought together vendors, entrepreneurs, families and community members for a vibrant celebration of business, culture and Sierra Leonean identity.
Mrs. Yvonne King Odigboh’s participation underscored the importance of engagement between Sierra Leone’s diplomatic representation and diaspora organisations working to create opportunities, promote entrepreneurship and foster community development.
Her presence went beyond the ceremonial, offering encouragement to Sierra Leonean traders and small business owners whose hard work and enterprise support livelihoods and contribute to economic activity both in the United Kingdom and Sierra Leone.
Throughout the event, vendors showcased their products, engaged with customers and built valuable connections with fellow entrepreneurs. Sierra Leonean fashion, food, music and entertainment contributed to the lively atmosphere, while a raffle draw and other activities added to the family-friendly celebration.
Beyond the festivities, the occasion highlighted entrepreneurship as a powerful vehicle for economic empowerment, self-reliance and community advancement. It also provided an important platform for recognising the creativity, resilience and determination of Sierra Leonean business owners in the diaspora.
The Annual Luncheon Fête ultimately stands as a celebration of enterprise, cultural pride and togetherness. With Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Yvonne King Odigboh serving as Distinguished Grand Chief Patron, the occasion reinforced the value of continued collaboration between Sierra Leone’s diplomatic mission and the diaspora in promoting enterprise, strengthening communities and contributing to national development.
