Sierra Leone has made a solid start at *World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026*, with the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, *Hon. Nabeela Farida Tunis*, leading a formidable delegation of officials from the Ministry and the National Tourist Board, including Director Mohamed Jalloh and General Manager Fatmata Mida Carew.

*Day One* of the prestigious three-day global tourism event saw Minister Tunis engage with leading tour operators, travel companies and influential personalities in the international tourism industry, as Sierra Leone continues to position itself as an attractive destination for tourism, culture and investment.

Among the Minister’s notable engagements included a meeting with *Peter Greenberg*, CBS News Travel Editor, multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative journalist and producer, and host of *The Travel Detective* and *Eye on Travel*.

She also engaged *Matt Midworth* of *National Geographic Traveller (UK)*, one of the world’s most influential travel publications, renowned for inspiring travel, shaping perceptions and promoting destinations to international audiences.

These meetings highlight the importance of international media partnerships in showcasing Sierra Leone’s remarkable tourism potential.

Reflecting the minister’s varied engagements, the Sierra Leone delegation’s programme encompasses a broad range of opportunities for international collaboration, including destination marketing, digital content creation, travel journalism, influencer partnerships and tourism promotion across emerging and established markets.

In addition to the drive to attract effective tourism operators, particular areas of interest include strengthening Sierra Leone’s *visibility* through international travel publications, digital storytelling and *strategic  media campaigns*; exploring opportunities for the country’s scenic and cultural attractions to feature in films and television productions; and developing targeted promotional initiatives for family, adventure, gastronomy eco and heritage tourism.

The tourism team is also looking towards 2027, with a focus on *further building and strengthening sustainable partnerships*, *expanding international market access and positioning Sierra Leone more prominently* within the global travel industry.

From its breathtaking beaches and rich cultural heritage to its wildlife, historical attractions and warm hospitality, Sierra Leone has a compelling story to tell the world.

And *at WTM London, that story is being told!*

After a hectic but productive first day, Minister Tunis is already looking forward to *Day Two*, with renewed enthusiasm and determination to build partnerships, attract visitors and strengthen Sierra Leone’s place on the global tourism map.

*Day One accomplished*.

*Day Two beckons*.

*Sierra Leone is open to the world!*
