THE SIERRA LEONE HIGH COMMISSION IN LONDON LOWERS THE NATIONAL FLAG IN MOURNING!πΈπ±π
In commemoration of the three days of national mourning declared by HE President Julius Maada Bio in respect of our country women and men who lost their lives or were injured in the Wellington Fire Disaster on Friday 5th November 2021, the Sierra Leone High Commission in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, today lowered the national flag draped at the entrance of the chancery to a half mast.
The High Commission, under the directives and guidance of the High Commissioner, Dr. Morie Manyeh, also organised a multi-faith prayer meeting inside the chancery in honour of all the departed souls and the injured and in support of the family members.
As the High Commission moves to coordinate further efforts with the appropriate channels in Freetown, we wish to register our thanks and gratitude to all Sierra Leoneans and Friends of Sierra Leone in the touching outpour of grief and we look forward to organising a wider inter-faith prayer gathering to which we would invite everyone.
Meanwhile, we are opening an electronic Book of Condolences on the SLHC Website where anyone could sign to register their personal sympathy.
We look forward to working closely with the Sierra Leonean public and with all friends of Sierra Leone including governmental and non governmental agencies in the UK to do all we could together to offer relief to those affected.
Thank you!
