Executive members of the Fullah Progressive Union (FPU) UK & Ireland today paid a courtesy visit to the Sierra Leone High Commission on Eagle Street in London ahead of the forthcoming FPU “*National Fullah Day and Fundraising Event*”.

The delegation, led by FPU UK & Ireland Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Bah, included Vice Chairman Abdulrahman Sow and Organising Secretary Alpha Osman Bah (Fulabee). The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the upcoming event and strengthen the organisation’s engagement with the High Commission.

Highlighting the importance of maintaining this relationship, Alhaji Ibrahim Bah said, “As a Sierra Leonean community organisation in the diaspora, it is important that the FPU continues to liaise and work closely with our High Commission.” He added that through constructive engagement and partnership, FPU can better serve its community while contributing positively to the wider interests of Sierra Leone.

Welcoming the delegation, His Excellency Dr. Morie Komba Manyeh emphasised the importance of celebrating Sierra Leone’s cultural diversity while maintaining national unity. “Our strength as Sierra Leoneans lies in our unity,” he said. “We can proudly celebrate our different cultures and traditions, but we must always remember that what binds us together as one people and one nation is far greater than what may appear to separate us.”

This message of unity reflects the spirit of the 2026 FPU “National Fullah Day and Fundraising Event”, which will take place on Saturday, 19 September 2026, at Royal Regency Hall, 501 High Street North, London E12 6TH.

Under the theme “*Fottal e Pottal – Together in Unity and Progress*,” the event will celebrate Fullah culture, heritage and identity while bringing communities together and raising funds to support future development initiatives.

During the visit, the executives reaffirmed FPU UK & Ireland’s continued commitment not only to showcasing cultural pride, but also to promoting peaceful coexistence, supporting community development, and contributing to a stronger and more united Sierra Leone.
