His Excellency Dr. Morie Komba Manyeh, High Commissioner of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the United Kingdom, today attended *Jalsa Salana UK 2026*, the annual convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, held in East Worldham, Hampshire.
The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mrs. Juliana Fallah, Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of Chancery; Mrs. Mbalia Sankoh, Second Secretary; and Mr. Abdulai Braima, Information Attaché.
Widely recognised as the United Kingdom’s largest Muslim convention, this year’s Jalsa Salana reportedly attracted over 50,000 participants from more than 100 countries, bringing together diplomats, parliamentarians, faith leaders, academics and community representatives in a unique celebration of faith, dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
Now in its 60th year in the United Kingdom, the convention is organised annually by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK under the spiritual leadership of His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. The event promotes spiritual renewal while encouraging interfaith dialogue, humanitarian service and mutual understanding through its motto, “*Love for All, Hatred for None*.”
Throughout the three-day convention, delegates participate in religious addresses, educational seminars, exhibitions and discussions centred on peacebuilding, moral leadership and service to humanity. A defining feature of the event is its remarkable volunteer operation, with thousands of volunteers managing transport, accommodation, catering, healthcare, security, sanitation and other essential services, transforming the venue into a well-organised temporary community for tens of thousands of international guests.
The attendance of High Commissioner Dr. Manyeh and his delegation at this year’s Jalsa Salana reflects Sierra Leone’s commitment to religious tolerance, peaceful dialogue and international cooperation. It also recognises the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s decades long contribution to Sierra Leone’s national development, through the establishment of schools, hospitals and health centres, water and sanitation projects, and the promotion of education and social welfare programs across the country.
Speaking after the event, High Commissioner Dr. Manyeh paid tribute to the Community’s longstanding partnership with Sierra Leone, describing its contribution to national development as “both profound and enduring.” He noted that generations of Sierra Leoneans continue to benefit from the Mission’s investments in education, healthcare and humanitarian service.
Reflecting on the significance of the convention, the High Commissioner described Jalsa Salana as “an impressive demonstration of the power of faith to bring people together in peace, mutual respect and service to humanity.” He added that “at a time when many societies are confronted by division and intolerance, gatherings such as this remind us that our shared values are far greater than our differences.” Reaffirming Sierra Leone’s commitment to dialogue and peaceful coexistence, he commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for its enduring message of “*Love for All, Hatred for None*,” describing it as a principle that continues to inspire hope and understanding across nations and communities.
